    Burbank man allegedly robbed Chicago CVS, led police on chase to Wisconsin border


    Armed robbery suspect in custody after leading police on chase from SW Side to Wisconsin

    A CVS pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint in Scottsdale Saturday evening. Sources say police chased the suspect from the Southwest Side to the Wisconsin border before arresting him. Viewers caught some of the ordeal on video.

    Norbert Thigpen, 36, faces two felony counts of armed robbery and discharge of a firearm and one felony count of aggravated fleeing from police.

    Chicago police responded to an armed robbery at a CVS in the 8600 block of South Cicero Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after Thigpen allegedly demanded cash from the register while pointing a gun at an employee. 

    Illinois State Police pursued the suspect for over an hour. Sources say he was throwing cash out of the window during the ordeal.

    He was then reportedly spotted turning around and at about 7:25 p.m., he was captured on Interstate 95 at Milwaukee Avenue near Gurnee and charged accordingly.
