Cuomo team misidentifies Senate leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins in sex harassment rebuttal

Embattled Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s team misidentified the leader of the state Senate in a photo included in a lengthy rebuttal to the sexual harassment probe that has the Democrat fighting for his political life.

A photo in the 85-page report authored by attorney Rita Glavin on Tuesday showed Cuomo locking hands with a woman wrongly identified in the caption as Andrea Stewart-Cousins, the Senate’s Democratic majority leader — and the first woman and first black woman to lead either house of the Legislature.

The picture was part of a collection showing the governor smooching and hugging various people over the years, offering evidence that his interactions with others are “not gender-based.”

“The Governor’s interaction has been on public display virtually on a daily basis for nearly 20 years,” the report stated.

“The Governor’s conduct in this regard is unremarkable: Democratic and Republican politicians, male and female alike, use handshakes, hugs, and kisses to connect with others.”

Other pictures include Cuomo kissing people of both genders across the political spectrum, from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D) to former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R).

But the photo labeled with Stewart-Cousins’ name is not her.

“It’s offensive but not surprising, they’ve done this exact same thing before,” Mike Murphy, spokesman for the state Democratic Conference on behalf of State Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

The Senate leader is among the growing chorus from within Cuomo’s own party that have called for him to resign in the face of the allegations earlier this year and this week’s report led by Attorney General Letitia James that found he had sexually harassed several women.

A spokesperson for Cuomo didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Post.

The photo that Cuomo's report said was State Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins.
