Ghanaian rapper D Black has jumped into the defense of music producers and DJs in the country, acknowledging that the industry does do not favor them.
His comment comes after producer MOG Beatz accused Shatta Wale of not paying him after the former had produced a number of records for the dancehall star.
This ignited lamentations from other producers who had suffered the same plight.
D Black in a Twitter post said that the Ghanaian music industry was f*cked up and the mechanisms do not work.

Our industry is shit and the mechanisms don’t work. We’re fckd in so many ways in Ghana & unfortunately our industry doesn’t favour producers & djs even more . Artists In Ghana make revenue mainly off streams , performances & endorsements. If we really wanna help each other ..

When artist & producers create records together, make the split sheets happen. Log in for the future& international royalties. And then also trade talent. Artist kick verses or create a record for the producer too. So he can have a record out and earn that streaming revenue too.

Artists pls Encourage ur producers to also create and EP or album. So that streaming revenue he makes is the equivalent of the artists ‘performance fees’ etc . U get ur royalties too. So that we all eating . We gotta be smart out here to survive. Our industry weak. My 2 cents ✌🏽
