The President of Rwanda and a strong fan of Arsenal, Paul Kagame, has expressed profound frustration over Arsenal’s embarrassing Premier League defeat to newly promoted club, Brentford FC.
Arsenal lost 2-0 to Brentford on Friday evening, August 13, 2021. Brentford have been absence from top-tier football over the past 74 years.
The away match for the Gunners marked the opening of the 2021/2022 English Premier League season.
After the defeat of his club, Mr Kagame took to Twitter to express his disappointment, calling changes within Arsenal.
“We just must not excuse or accept mediocrity. A team has to be built with purpose to win win win. So that when we lose….it was not to be expected!,” Mr Kagame said in his tweet sighted by African Entertainment.
He added ” I am sure we all know on whose shoulders the heaviest burden rests. I hope they know too or even accept it,” he wrote.
