Don Lemon From CNN and Amy Schumer Debate Tiffany Haddish’s Confidence

Don Lemon from CNN and comedian Amy Schumer appeared on The Shop, HBO series.

Don Lemon from CNN and comedian Amy Schumer joined LeBron James, Maverick Carter, marketing executive Paul Rivera, rapper Fat Joe.  The panelist spoke about life and vulnerability in the industry. But Tiffany Haddish longtime friend Schumer questioned too much self-confidence hindering a woman’s success.

Schumer began saying, “I just want to say something. This is totally off-topic. But you were talking about rappers and the aspirational sort of whatever.” Continuing to say, “I think it’s the opposite for women and female comics. Well on, I grew up loving Lil Kim and thinking my pussy’s the best. But, so I have a little bit of that you know. Moms Mabley and Chelsea Handler” have made jokes about being “a drunk” and fat. In other words stating women in comedy take themselves down and downplay themselves in order to grow.

But at that moment Don Lemon from CNN pointed out Tiffany Haddish’s confidence. “I don’t think Tiff Haddish does that. If you’ve seen her lately she’s like this is what success looks like. This is not a costume. This is couture.”

Nevertheless, Schumer did not see the benefit. She asked, Lemon, “But how is that going for her?” she asked. “I’m really asking this. I’m really asking this.” Lemon said, “I love Tiff.”

She continued, “I love Tiff too, she’s incredible. She’s had a huge meteoric rise. I’m wondering if people are going to get pissed at her.”

Fat Joe interrupted the conversation. “When you come from us you come from nothing. And so, what I’m telling you about Fat Joe is idgaf. I want to live as good as I can.” He continued, “I open up businesses in the community.” Also noting, “I got a school in my store. I do everything I can. But I’m gon throw that Louis Vuitton on like a MF.”

Lemon understanding, Schumer’s pov pointed out Joann Rivers making fun of herself. The ‘Trainwreck’ actress then said, “it’s pretty much self-deprecating.”

During the episode Schumer also mentioned her fear of backlash.
