Mom blogger Shannon Bird faces an unexpected nightmare with no help in sight. Imagine unexpectedly running out of breast milk at 2 in the morning.
Shannon Bird tried her best to reach neighbors, friends and her brother and got no answer, at that moment the mom decided to call 911 as a last resort.
The mom has four other children that were sleeping, and one of them had a broken leg. On top of that, Bird was unable to lift anything heavier than her baby, under doctor’s orders for a medical condition, USA Today reported. Moreover, the family had lice.
“I’ve been calling neighbors and no one will answer,” she told police, according to KSL. “I’ve never been in this predicament ever. My milk just literally dried out. This is my fifth kid and this has never happened.”
Bird figured a cop could patrol the house while she ran out for milk. Instead, the cops went to the store.
Officer Brett Wagstaff showed up at her door with a gallon of milk. When he realized that the baby needed formula, he went out again.
While Bird said she felt “mortified” at her life having come to this, she had to try.
Not only is Shannon Bird a super mom, but she is also a mom blogger. she decided to use her blogging as an outlet to capture the moment and share the struggle with other moms. She posted her experience to the parenting website Motherly pointed out, she recorded the entire transaction on her platforms and inevitably got some blowback.
As some may have not thought about calling the police at all, the officials said Shannon did the right thing.
